The Story Behind the Name:
”Las Olas”
At the heart of Las Olas is a story deeply rooted in our Caribbean heritage. As owners, we were born and raised on a beautiful island surrounded by the ocean—where the rhythm of the waves is not just a sound, but a way of life.
In Spanish, our native language, “olas” means waves. And for us, the waves have always represented more than just the sea. They hold memories of warm days at the beach, peaceful moments watching the tide roll in, and the deep sense of calm and connection that only the ocean can bring.
When we dreamed up our boutique hotel, we wanted to share a piece of that life with you— a space that captures the warmth, beauty, and tranquility of our island roots. Las Olas is our way of bringing that experience to Treasure Island, inviting you to slow down, breathe deeply, and let the waves carry your worries away.

Meet the Owners
We’re a family of five, originally from the beautiful island of Puerto Rico. In 2018, following Hurricane Maria, we relocated to the Tampa Bay area in search of a fresh start—and from the moment we arrived, it felt like home. Over the years, we’ve built a life we love here, growing not only our family — which now includes two amazing daughters (ages 25 and 8) and a wonderful 13-year-old son — but also a business rooted in hospitality and heart.
With over eight years of experience hosting guests in Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic, we’ve had the joy of welcoming travelers from around the world. Acquiring Las Olas is the realization of a long-held dream: to create a boutique hotel that reflects our Caribbean roots and our love for warm, welcoming spaces. It’s an extension of our home, and we can’t wait to share it with you.
We still remember the very first time we visited Treasure Island.
We spent the day laughing, swimming, and making memories with friends and family near John’s Pass. At one point, we crossed the little bridge to the other side of the boulevard and looked around, saying, half-jokingly, “Wouldn’t it be amazing to own a house here someday?” We laughed it off—because, really, it felt like a dream too far out of reach. But life has a funny way of surprising you… and here we are, welcoming you to Las Olas—our very own slice of paradise in a place we once only admired from the other side of the street.

What drew us to Treasure Island is everything we still love about it today. It’s one of the most beautiful beaches on the Gulf Coast, with breathtaking sunsets, vibrant nightlife, fun local activities, boutique shops, and great restaurants. It’s close to airports, downtown St. Pete, John’s Pass, Madeira Beach, and more—offering the perfect mix of relaxation and adventure.
What sets Las Olas apart is the experience itself. We’re not a massive resort or a budget motel—we sit comfortably in the middle, offering a unique stay at a fair rate. Our boutique property is cozy, stylish, and thoughtfully designed, with modern touches, intimate spaces, and a minimalist, elegant vibe. You’ll have easy access to the beach and everything Treasure Island has to offer—without the crowds or chaos of larger hotels.
